Wood Uses - Wood Composites |
Composites combine two or more materials -- typically a reinforcing material with a resin -- to produce car parts, building materials, and other products. Approximately 3 billion pounds of composite products are manufactured annually, according to the Composites Fabricators Association. Natural fibers, such as wood, are a small percentage of the market, but are predicted to expand tremendously for use in particleboard, medium-density fiberboard, etc. RCA Documents Agricultural Residues: A Promising Alternative to Virgin Wood Fiber Other Documents Use of Agricultural Fibers in the Manufacture of Composite Panels, Forest Products SocietyBast Fiber Applications for Composites, Fibre Alternatives/BioComposite Solutions Kline & Co "Natural Fiber" Composites Market Forecast |
