University campuses provide an excellent opportunity to involve faculty, students and the administration in implementing wood reduction practices. As large consumers of wood products, universities should choose alternative paper, furniture and building products. With a changing student body every year, universities can make moving days more "forest-friendly" by ensuring that cardboard boxes are recycled and old furniture donated to in-house reuse centers or charities such as Goodwill.
